Yellow (Coldplay Cover) – Live from Great Sand Dunes.

Video #3 of 4 from the “Live From The Parks” video series.

When I was wandering around the Great Sand Dunes of Colorado, I kept singing Coldplay’s song “Yellow” to myself. I don’t know if it was the line “turn it in to something beautiful” that kept circling through my mind? Or, perhaps I was reminded of their music video in which Chris Martin strolls along a sandy beach.

Nevertheless, an afternoon of having the song in my head led me to record a cover at the park. I captured inspiring film with my GoPro and filled my shoes (and pockets even!) with sand. Then, after a night of star gazing, I found an empty camp site and set up my “studio.”

The Great Sand Dunes National Park is truly magnificent. When I was there I was nothing more than a speck of sand that whisked around when the wind blew. What a magical a feeling.

I loved creating and editing the footage for this video, and re-living my experience at the park. I hope you enjoy watching. Who knows? Maybe one day you’ll find yourself in the valley of a dune! And if you do, please send me a photo 🙂

The Bad Ones – Live from Badlands

Video #2 of 4 from the “Live From The Parks” video series is out today.

The Bad Ones is a new song and will be on my forthcoming album due Fall ’21. If you stick around to the end of the video you just might hear a clip of the studio version 🙂

The song’s topic is pretty self explanatory… in fact, I trust you’ll understand its inspiration after the first line.

I recorded this video during my time spent in Badlands National Park this past October. And it’s clear from the footage that I got that Badlands is one of this country’s most unique and otherworldly parks.

Enjoy 🙂

That Was Then – live from Acadia

I was able to visit many of the country’s finest national parks this past fall, which inspired a bit of a project for myself. Live from the Parks. Whenever I had extra time, and spare courage, I would look for a calming spot to set up my mobile video/recording studio and get to work.

I was very happy to hear how my sounds resonated with the local nature, and though sometimes I was fighting the elements (the cold, the heavy winds, the parade of curious hikers) I’m glad that I was able to capture some unique moments and snippets of this beautiful world we live in.

Here is the first of four videos, “That Was Then,” recorded live at Acadia National Park in September 2020. Enjoy the tune, as well as the incredible scenery that dresses the coast of Maine.

If you feel encouraged to get out and see the parks this website offers a great resource.
