“Something Good,” the first single off my upcoming album Dazy, is out now and you can listen here!
“Something Good” is an upbeat, anthemic ode to loneliness. It’s kinda timely, considering we’ve all been isolated for over a year. But, I don’t know, I’m sensing the tides are changing?
I recorded Something Good at Virtue and Vice studios – it’s produced by myself and Anthony ‘Rocky’ Gallo. Rocky also mixed this bad mo-fo. He’s been around for all three albums!
The usual cast of characters can be heard on the track:
My boy, Marques Walls is on Drums. He’s a longtime bro bro and no stranger to many of you. He’s also a seriously creative photographer/producer/comedian.
Alan Stevens Hewitt – AKA Zaddy – is on the bass guitar. He also opened up his beautiful home in Haverstraw, NY last summer for us practice before heading into the studio.
Cian McCarthy is on keys and is responsible for the feverish horn section! He arranged all of the booty-shakin’ horn parts.
Speaking of the horn section, Matt Owens is on Trumpet – he and I worked together in Central Park one summer, along with Andrew Gutauskas who plays multiple reed instruments. And my homie/Beautiful bandmate, Nick Grinder, is on trombone.
Supporting me with backup vocals are: Ximone Rose, Ben Moss and Aneesa Folds.
“Something Good” was mastered by Kevin Blackler of Blackler Mastering.
Cover design by: Boohdie Obrero
Please enjoy the song and dance along to it wherever you are 🙂
